Anti-Mormon
The term "Anti-Mormon" is considered to be a "Thought-Terminating Cliché". The subconcious use of this word is equivalent to brainwashing or a self-conditioning response to filter undesireable content. By arbitrarily labeling information, people or groups with a term, a mental aversion can be established. Leaders of cults often develop and employ thought-terminiating clichés. They use this technique on thier members which enables them to subconsciously self-censor information or people that are critical of the thoughts, ideas and teachings of such an organization.

Mormon doctrine makes some extraordinary claims that run contrary to many fundemental teachings of Christianity. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints claims to belong to the Christian faith yet does not hold to the basic tenants of Christianity. Therefore, the burden of proof is placed squarely on the shoulders of the LDS church to proove the claims made by its founding prophets. In order to fairly examine these claims close examination must be made by it's members. So, instead of plugging your ears and running in the opposite direction shouting "blah, blah, blah, I can't hear you, you are just an Anti-Mormon"; you should do as your leaders have said.

"If a faith will not bear to be investigated; if its preachers and professors are afraid to have it examined, their foundation must be very weak."
Apostle George A. Smith, Journal of Discourses, Volume 14, Page 216

"I think a full, free talk is frequently of great use; we want nothing secret nor underhanded, and for one I want no association with things that cannot be talked about and will not bear investigation."
President John Taylor, Journal of Discourses, Volume 20, Page 264

"Convince us of our errors of doctrine, if we have any, by reason, by logical arguments, or by the word of God, and we will be ever grateful for the information, and you will ever have the pleasing reflection that you have been instruments in the hands of God of redeeming your fellow beings from the darkness which you may see enveloping their minds."
Apostle Orson Pratt, The Seer, Page 15
